Shawna Lyonfields, M.Engr., Ph.D.

Shawna Lyonfields’ professional focus is talent management, including assessments for selection and development, executive coaching, team development, and change management.  She and her husband, Jim, founded a talent management firm, Talent Assessment and Development, LLC, helping organizations integrate and enhance their talent management initiatives.

 

Shawna assists individuals and organizations in improving their productivity and feeling more fulfilled.  She helps organizations select, train, and develop their most valued assets, their people.  She develops teams and facilitates change management efforts.

 

Shawna has conducted thousands of assessments for selection and development of professionals from entry level to executives.  She has experience in multiple industries, including financial services, consumer packaged goods, construction, manufacturing, health care, insurance, and food service, in the US as well as internationally.  She has provided executive coaching and assisted with succession planning for executives in small, medium and Fortune 500 companies.  She has conducted leadership development with individuals and teams through a wide variety of organizational development programs.

 

Shawna has aided family businesses with succession planning and leadership development for the next generation.  She has helped them work through difficult family and business issues.

 

Shawna was a management consultant with the St. Louis firm, CMA, for almost 10 years before TAD was established.  During that time, she significantly grew CMA’s business, helping to grow the firm three-fold.  She set records for the firm, greatly exceeding revenue targets.

 

Shawna received her Doctorate degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Oklahoma.  She was an Assistant Director of the University of Oklahoma Assessment Clinic.  While at the University, she taught multiple career counseling courses. 

 

Shawna also holds a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering and a Masters of Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University.  After receiving her undergraduate and graduate degrees in engineering, she performed engineering work for a variety of residential, commercial and government projects.


She served as a Communications Facilitator at Tinker Air Force Base, teaching techniques for dealing with anger, effective communications and problem solving.  While working at Tinker, she organized an American Red Cross chapter response to the Oklahoma City bombing and assisted in counseling military personnel returning from rescue work at the bombing site.

 

Shawna has received numerous awards for community involvement, research, teaching and academic excellence.  While pursuing her education, she was the recipient of 14 academic and service scholarships.

 

She has been a member of the Board of Directors of The Entrepreneur Institute – St. Louis Chapter and is a graduate of Leadership Clayton.  She is a member of the Society of Industrial/Organizational Psychologists and the American Psychological Association.  Shawna is a licensed Psychologist.
